    Image Not Available for The first jet transport plane produced in the United States nears completion at Boeing Aircraft plant in Renton, Washington State. The big four-jet 190,000-pound aircraft will be the test model for demonstration to commercial and military buyers. It represents an investment of $15,000,000 by the Boeing Corporation. The "transport of the future" is 128 feet long with a wing-spread of 130 feet. A cruising speed of 550 miles-per-hour will permit regular transcontinental (New York to West Coast) flights in less than five hours and trans-Atlantic (New York to London) flights in less than seven hours. Passenger load in high speed comfort will vary from 80 to 150 depending on distances and other operational requirements.
