ProvenanceSixth album of Gerhard-Albrecht (Gerd) von Massow, WW1 veteran and commander of the Luftwaffe’s Jagdfliegerschulen (Fighter Schools) for much of WW2. Photographs document his pre-war years as Oberstleutnant and Commander of the Schleißheim Flying-Group: pilots, officers, aircraft and a number of military funerals. Of particular interest are rare photographs of the visit of an Royal Air Force officer to a Luftwaffe unit, probably at Schleißheim airfield. Also includes snapshots of family and holidays (Oberammergau, Bavaria) as well as the 1936 Winter Olympic Games. Ephemera includes calling (business) cards, letters and ticket stubs. Captions.
