ProvenanceUS WW2 album of collected official Army Signal Corp press photographs. The images document various branches of the US military in the United States, Australia and both the European and Pacific Theatres. Activities and objects recorded include the rehearsal of seaborne landings (landing craft, beach defences), anti-aircraft and searchlight units, ship launches and transport by sea, jungle warfare, tank and artillery units, communications units, construction units (bunkers, bridges), the wiring of TNT explosive charges and medical units (including dental and Red Cross). Also includes photographs of a crashed train, bomb loading and actual damage to - and repair of - USAAF aircraft. Ephemera includes diagrams and illustrations of ancient Japanese O'Yoroi samurai armour.
