Wolfgang Volkra
Wolfgang Volkra (also Volckra), was a member of a modest family of the Austrian nobility with estates in Breillenstein, Steinabrunn and Streitdorf, who rose to become a court official under Ferdinand I, King of Bohemia and later Holy Roman Emperor. Under Ferdinand, Volkra rose to the office of Hofmarschall, as well as being a member of his privy council. In 1525 Volkra was granted a coat-of-arms, which are carved on the reverse the roundel (AGOID.29430). In 1530 Volkra accompanied King Ferdinand to the Augsburg Reichstag as Obersthofmeister (Chief Chamberlain). Apparently, no bronze of the medal was ever struck.
