Andy Warhol

After Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol is the most famous artist of the twentieth century. It was Warhol's intention to become famous and he succeeded through an ingenious array of artistic and creative enterprises, spanning from commercial design to painting, installation, performance, film-making, photography, writing, television, collecting, socializing, among other pursuits. Warhol's persona is intimitely linked to his artistic creations, the most celebrated being his Pop art icons which made use of the photo-mechanical silk-screen technique, which he used to make his paintings and prints.
